TPWallet Account Reset Guide Without Losing Assets

Updated 2026-10-21T02:25:01.485+00:00

PWallet is a non-custodial wallet. Your assets stay on the blockchain, not inside the app. Resetting the app only clears local wallet data on your phone. As long as you have valid backups (seed phrase / private key / keystore), you can restore your wallets and keep all assets safe.

> Important distinction > Reset App: Erases all locally saved wallets, password, biometrics and local transaction cache. This is used when you forgot your wallet password, fix app glitches, or want a clean TPWallet setup. > Reset Password (Android only)**: Reset just the wallet password without wiping all wallets, using your seed phrase. > Assets will NOT be deleted on-chain after reset.

Pre-Reset Mandatory Checklist (Do this first)

  1. Prepare the 12/24-word seed phrase for every wallet you need to restore. Check word spelling and order.
  2. For single imported accounts: back up private key or keystore + keystore password.
  3. Test restore on a spare device first (highly recommended). Import the seed phrase and confirm balances show correctly before resetting your main TPWallet.
  4. Update TPWallet to the latest official version from the official channel.
  5. Write down custom RPCs, custom token contracts and hidden wallet passphrases (if used). These need to be re-added manually after reset.
  6. If you lose seed phrase, resetting will lead to permanent loss of assets. TPWallet cannot recover seed phrase or password for youTokenPocke....

Method 1: Reset TPWallet App (iOS)

  1. Open TPWallet, tap Me at the bottom right.
  2. Go to Security.
  3. Select Reset App.
  4. Read the warning prompt carefully: this action deletes all local wallets. Confirm to proceed.
  5. TPWallet will restart to the welcome page.
  6. Tap Import Wallet, enter your seed phrase / private key / keystore.
  7. Set a new wallet password and enable biometric login if needed.
  8. Switch chains and add custom tokens to view your assets again.

Method 2: Reset Wallet Password Without Wiping All Wallets (Android)

Use this if you only forgot password and do not want to clear all wallets.

  1. Open TPWallet and enter the wallet you want to reset password for.
  2. Tap the top wallet area to open wallet details.
  3. Choose Reset Password.
  4. Input the correct seed phrase of this wallet.
  5. Create and confirm a new wallet password.
  6. Verify with biometrics if supported.

> This option is not available for iOS users. iOS users need to use Reset App + re-import seed phrase.

Method 3: Manual Reset (Clear App Data / Reinstall)

Use for serious app bugs, corrupted local storage.

  1. Complete seed phrase backup and restore test.
  2. Android: Go to phone Settings → Apps → TPWallet → Storage → Clear data.
  3. iOS: Uninstall TPWallet, then reinstall from App Store.
  4. Launch TPWallet, import your wallets one by one.
  5. Configure networks, tokens and DApp settings again.

Common Post-Reset Troubleshooting

  • Zero balance after import: Select the correct blockchain, add the token manually, check RPC node, confirm derivation path.
  • Seed phrase import fails: Check word order, spelling, language, hidden wallet extra passphrase.
  • Biometric unlock missing: Re-enable it in Security after you set the new wallet password.
  • Imported private key address mismatch: Confirm you copied the full private key without extra spaces.

Critical Security Rules

  • Never share seed phrase, private key or keystore with anyone claiming to be TPWallet support.
  • Do not store seed phrase in cloud notes, screenshots or chat apps. Use offline paper backup.
  • After reset, old local transaction history will disappear; you can check records on block explorers.
  • Reset does not transfer or withdraw assets. Ownership is controlled by your seed phrase.
